IF YOU LIKE KILLING, MOVE TO FLORIDA

So here we are, George Zimmerman is found not guilty of 2nd degree murder or of manslaughter.

    What does that tell us?

That says that even though he was told not to follow Trayvon, even though he was proven to have lied over and over, even though his wounds were superficial, even though his story kept changing, even though he used racial slurs, even though he had taken defense training, that somehow 6 people were convinced that Zimmerman killed a teenage boy because he was in fear of his life.

And they gave him a pass.

I can only assume that these 6 women were mentally balanced and in control of all their faculties, but I didn't get to see jury selection so all I can do is to assume those things.

However, I did watch the trial with great interest. I watched intently as the defense team attempted to validate the most current story Zimmerman told.

I also kept glued to the proceedings as the prosecutor demonstrated how some of the things Zimmerman claimed occurred would have been impossible to take place.

I watched while Zimmermans uncle claimed he recognized Georges voice screaming for help on the television when he wasn't even watching the news show.

I watched and watched and watched.

After the testimonies and summations were finished, and the jury was instructed by the judge, I concluded that 2nd degree murder was probably not going to stick, but the manslaughter charge was custom made for this case.

When I first heard that he was found not guilty I admit that I was taken by complete surprise. How in this wide wide universe could 6 supposedly rational thinking people ever believe that Zimmerman was acting in self defense?

If your house was burning down and you ran back inside to save that bowling trophy you won 16 years ago, would you blame the fire for your burns? NO! It would be your own stupidity that got you injured.

I will readily admit that my faith in our supposed justice system is weak at best, but how these 6 jurors could abandon the obviously undeniable evidence  presented in favor of proposed scenarios of dubious origin is way, way beyond my comprehension.

The eventual outcome of this event would fit perfectly in the 1960's south, white man kills black teen, not guilty, but this happened in 2013. Are the southern states still that backwards? Is it just the wacky judicial system in Florida?

There are only 6 people who know what took place in those jury deliberations, but there are hundreds of millions worldwide who are totally perplexed as to how those 6 people could possibly render such an obviously flawed decision.

I am a middle aged white man who is enraged about this injustice, I can only assume that blacks are even more so. But then again, black people have been suffering American injustices for centuries now, despite what the authorities attempt to shove down our throats about there is no longer racial unfairness, and that the police don't do racial profiling, the statistics would easily prove otherwise.

Perhaps we can salvage something positive from this, it may get the needed dialogue started to force Americans into facing the fact that we still live in a segregated nation, where minorities are still treated like second class citizens, where opportunities and hope are limited to segments of society.

It is said that a problem cannot be solved until we first admit that a problem exists, well, a problem most certainly exists, and if we truly love this country, we will stand up and defend the principles it was founded on, that ALL people are equally important, that ALL people have a right for the pursuit of happiness.

6 people declared George Zimmerman not guilty, but millions and millions more know that he is a murderer, and he will appropriately  carry that title with him to HIS dying day.

CUT THE CHEIF A LITTLE SLACK

Because of being accused continually of having some sort of blind allegiance to President Obama, and because some things Obama does perplex my logical thinking, I will testify exactly what I believe.

I believe that no party or individual politician is beyond reproach. I think that every last one of them are human,(well, maybe not Cheney and Bachmann) and they are subject to human frailties. Temptations exist for every manner of appetite and regardless of moral strength, the mighty have fallen before and it should come as no surprise that they still do. So it is imperative that once chosen, a representative of the people must have their feet kept to the fire. The constant scrutiny by all the people must be maintained if we expect excellence from our lawmakers.

That being said, I, nor virtually anyone else are privy to what information our President has knowledge of, I have no doubt that as a candidate making political promises Obama was unaware of many things that would possibly alter his opinion on certain items, and once informed of those circumstances was forced to rethink his previous position. We should and must give him that latitude without undue criticism.

When Obama took office he was met with the full fury from the opposition, he was told that the sole goal of the GOP was to insure his becoming a one term President. Who ever had to deal with that blatant bullshit before? Obamas big mistake was attempting to reach across the aisle and make everything bi-partisan when that was the very last thing Republicans were seeking. If he would have recognized their stubborn hostility earlier and just passed his desired legislation while the Democrats controlled both houses then a lot more would have been accomplished in his first two years.

After the GOP took the Congress in 2010 all bets were off. The GOP representitves fell right in step in their obstruction of any and all legislation introduced by Obama or the Democrats.Even after the American public overwhelmingly rejected the GOP and it's platform in 2012, the Republicans continued their crusade to rid this planet of Obama and his policies.

My apparent cheerleading for Obama and the Democratic party is largely due to the utter contempt I have for the GOP. I'm not an idiot, I realize that all political parties are corrupt to a certain level, but the GOP is so flagrant in their abuses to America that I can forgive many discretions being done by others.

You always hear "quit blaming Bush", but you know what? That stupid SOB allowed Dick Cheney to lead him by the nose into the darkest, most evil filled days this nation has ever witnessed, together with the other traitors in the Bush criminal family this nation ended up virtually bankrupt of prestige, money, and hope. That was the legacy left by Bush and the GOP, that is the huge pile of shit that Obama was handed when he was elected in 2008. I said at the time, who the hell would want to have to try fixing this mess.

But Obama did rise to the challenge, in the face of pure obstruction and defiance, he was not only able to halt the disaster of an economy about to collapse, but has in the last 4 years managed to bring back job growth, to stabilize the housing market, to allow the stock market to reach new high levels, to end the war in Iraq, to find and kill Bin Laden, to decimate Al Qeada, to return our auto industry to health, to give millions of Americans the opportunity to see a doctor and get proper medical attention, the list goes on and on and on.

Obama did these things while a cowardly and treacherous Republican party did nothing, not a fucking thing, except employ every method, trick, and lie they could conjure to block anything that would shed a positive light on his Presidency. At the cost of untold miseries heaped upon the American public, the GOP stood directly in the path of jobs bills that would have employed millions, of infrastructure bills that would have not only created hundreds of thousands of jobs, but would have boosted our lagging economy and fixed our aging roads and bridges. These arrogant bastards even voted down legislation that over 90% of this country approved of...OVER 90%..

President Obama has approved programs that I'm leery of, he has signed orders that make me uncomfortable, but I'll tell you what, all you have to do is open your eyes and reflect back into the recent past. The absolute ass fucking we were getting from the GOP, which continues to this day, gives me reason to believe that if they were returned to power, the GOP would pick right up where they left off and then bend us over for some more of the same.

When America elected a black man as President, I was not only surprised, but I was completely filled with  joy and optimism , the knowledge of our people  having the ability to see past a persons skin color, and elect him to the most powerful job on the planet, gave me great hope for our nation, and our future.

Time will tell if Obama will go down as a great President or not, but my bet is that without the leadership and determination he has already proven he possess, America would be a very different and less livable place than it currently is.

America is still recovering, and the World continues to be at a very unnerving point in history, but imagining George Bush, or any of the other GOP offerings leading the way, is a nightmare I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Don't You Point That Finger At Me

In an effort to be fair in my various accusatory postures, I will attempt to broaden my description of the particular whos, whats, wheres, and whys involved, and try to separate the innocent and unknowing from any collateral damage.

When I speak harshly of the GOP, I don't intend to include every Republican party member in the nation. I'm sure that the vast number of Republicans are honest, hard working people, honorable folks who only want the best for their families and for America. When I criticize the GOP for wrongdoing, it is those that are in control that I'm aiming at, the very top of the ladder.

I only find fault with the masses of Republicans for allowing their party leaders to act in the fashion they do, but I also realize that the amount of leverage any one party member has is obviously very limited, and the same can be said for Democrats and Independents too, I just wish they wouldn't support the party line just because they are Republicans; those that are in power take that as a free pass.

There are obvious targets of my assorted accusations, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Sununu, Rice, Clarke, and a number of others with well-known names that round out the Bush criminal cabinet. My most fierce attacks involve this group of traitors, their selfish behavior, their arrogant lies, their diabolical agenda, their abandonment of oath and honor, their cronyism, and the reckless ways they allowed this great nations financial health to be devastated by their lords and masters on Wall street.
These greedy bastards used war, fear, and intimidation to line their pockets with gold, and the cost was perhaps a million lives worldwide, mostly civilians, untold trillions, that's trillions, with a "T" of dollars, and the stability of the entire planet whose destiny has not yet been determined. This cabal of thieves could teach the Mafia how to steal.

One other main focus of my criticism consists of the GOP Senators and Congressmen in Washington DC. Between the Tea Party's extreme views, and the entire tally of GOP legislators acting like sheep, by voting only along party lines, even over the desires of more than 90% of this country, these representatives of ours have successfully blocked virtually all legislation, including jobs bills, and infrastructure bills that would create millions of jobs for Americans and restart our lagging economy. They are cowards whose self interests trump any concerns for this country and its people, and they should be driven from office.

The final group of Republicans I so joyfully accuse, are the various Governors and state legislators who have used any means they deem fit to enact laws that, block voting rights, limit womens' health clinics, redistrict areas to ensure GOP victories, etc.
These GOP loyalists take their marching orders from the men behind the scenes, the money men, the connected men, men like Karl Rove and others. If exposed to light these groups would legally be classified as an organized crime entity and prosecuted according to the RICO act, but be assured, that will never happen.

I don't think for a second that there isn't corruption within the Democratic party. It's just the sheer magnitude of corruption that permeates the GOP that overwhelms me and drives me to anger. So in my rantings and ravings, please be assured, I respect the everyday man, regardless of party-affiliation, it's the criminal element calling the shots that I have a problem with.
